The challenge
A venture studio wanted to turn a leadership-development concept into a production-grade digital product: a daily micro-learning experience for executives. The user experience looks simple, but the application required far more than a content website: deterministic daily personalization, AI-generated interpretation with layered curated, cached and live responses, controlled AI cost management, safety handling for distressed or hostile inputs, passwordless authentication, content management, event-level analytics, row-level database security and production-grade engineering throughout.
Rather than staffing a conventional development team, MBI delivered the product with its AI Delivery Lifecycle.
What we did
The delivery model combined a non-technical founder, one MBI architect and a set of specialized AI agents operating across the full software development lifecycle. Every feature started with a structured PRD; MBI retained ownership of architecture and critical technical decisions, while AI agents executed:
- Requirements and feature scoping
- Architecture preparation
- Application development
- Security and backend review
- Automated testing (roughly 200 automated tests in the final application)
- Business requirement validation
- Documentation, CI/CD and production readiness
Custom AI skills, delivery templates, MCP-based tooling and a two-gate workflow kept autonomous execution bounded by human architectural control. That structure is what made it safe for a non-developer founder to drive day-to-day delivery.
The impact
- From first PRD to production-ready in roughly six weeks, on about 50 human hours across both organizations
- 50-60% shorter calendar time
- Roughly 5-8x lower human effort
A conservative estimate for the same scope delivered conventionally by a small team: 250-400 hours over three to four months. These are estimates against the stated baseline, not audited figures.
In their words
"The AI Delivery Lifecycle was a major factor in reducing cost, shortening delivery time, and enabling a lean team to deliver a complex interactive application at production quality."
