The challenge
A European SaaS platform that had been on the market for more than 15 years had accumulated significant technical debt. The legacy application was expensive to operate, difficult to extend and increasingly risky to maintain. Most technical knowledge was concentrated in a single senior developer, a critical single point of failure. A conventional rebuild was estimated at at least 14 months and CZK 4.3M (approx. USD 215,000).
What we did
MBI replaced the traditional development model with a fully AI-enabled delivery lifecycle. A core team of one MBI architect and two developers, supported by 34 specialized AI agents and the client's Product Owner, rebuilt the platform from the ground up:
- Analysis of the 15-year-old legacy codebase
- Product requirements, feature scoping and new architecture
- Development through agentic workflows
- Code review, refactoring, automated testing and QA
- Technical documentation, DevOps, CI/CD and release management
The legacy application was used to understand required business behavior, not translated mechanically. The new platform was designed as a clean, modern application with a substantially simpler architecture.
